A standard set of polyhedral dice for RPGs

Do you know what is the intended tone of the game you are playing? All games have influences, and all games are better at emulating specific themes, feelings and ways of play compared to others. Some are good at drama others are better at action. Some support heavy role play in their mechanics others are more of a tactical experience. But most use dice.

How does the dice influence the experience of the game? Today I compare the two RPGs I have most experience with The Veil and D&D and in the process I make a ton of hot takes of ways to run D&D.

How I wrote a D&D adventure using Emacs

Arcane Moon is now available!

Emacs & org-mode is the definitive writing experience, it allowed me to organize my process, write, export to PDF and quickly make revisions. Yes, I am a developer, and yes Emacs is my IDE of choice, however, even if you are not, I think there’s a lot you can get out of using emacs, though it will take a large-ish amount of setup.

Arcane Moon is very 90s, very queer, and very dramatic adventure inspired by Sailor Moon, Cadcaptor Sakura and Magic Knight Rayearth! I wrote it as part of the RPG Writer Workshop, that as the name says was a workshop for people interested in writing for RPGs and getting published.
